3 killed as boat capsizes in India's northeast

NEW DELHI, Oct. 5 (Xinhua) -- Three people, including an 11-year-old boy, were killed after a boat carrying them capsized in a wetland in India's northeastern state of Assam on Sunday, police said Monday. The boat capsized at the Merbil wetland in the Ghilamara area of Lakhimpur district, about 418 km northeast of Dispur, the seat of Assam's state government. Police have attributed the boat capsizing to rising water levels in the wetland.......
