Volkswagen CEO suggests longer working hours in Germany to cut costs

Berlin (dpa) - Volkswagen chief executive Oliver Blume has floated longer working hours for Germany's 130,000 car workers to cut costs in the ailing industry, according to remarks made on a podcast released on Thursday. Labour costs in Germany are roughly twice as high as in other European countries where Volkswagen operates, Blume told The Pioneer.
