Istanbul (dpa) - Former Germany international Ilkay Gündogan has been awarded the Mevlüde Genç Medal by the state of North Rhine-Westphalia for his outstanding contribution to social cohesion. State Premier Hendrik Wüst presented the prize at a ceremony at the German ambassador's summer residence in Istanbul on Tuesday.
