Ethiopian runner Tigst Assefa narrowly missed out on breaking the women's world record at the Berlin Marathon on Sunday, crossing the finish line with an injury after being on record pace throughout. Assefa sped up in the final 10 kilometres but dropped off the pace in the final stages, visibly limping across the finish line.
