German producer price inflation hits three-year high on energy costs

Frankfurt (dpa-AFX) - Germany's producer price inflation accelerated to its highest level in more than three years in August, driven by higher energy prices amid the conflict in the Middle East, data from the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) showed on Friday. Producer prices rose 4.6% year-on-year in August, up from 3% in July and above analysts' expectations of 4.1%. This was the fastest increase since April 2023, when prices rose 5.2%. Ene......
