Media giant RTL to cut 500 jobs in Germany after Sky takeover

Cologne (dpa) - Media giant RTL intends to slash 500 jobs at its German division and new acquisition Sky Germany by the end of 2027. Most of the jobs are to be cut in 2026, the Luxembourg-based company said on Thursday. RTL Germany, which acquired the German division of Sky earlier this year, said it aims to avoid redundancies for operational reasons.
