Bayer returns to quarterly profit, confirms full-year outlook

Frankfurt (dpa) - German pharmaceutical and biotechnology company Bayer returned to profit in the second quarter, helped primarily by a sharp decline in other operating expenses. Net income attributable to Bayer shareholders came to ?219 million ($251.9 million), or ?0.23 per share, compared with a loss of ?199 million, or ?0.20 per share, a year earlier.
