MOSCOW, July 28 (RIA Novosti) - The membership in the North Atlantic Treaty Organization costs Italy 450 million euros ($513 million) per year, which accounts for 8.53% of the total NATO budget, Italian Defense Minister Guido Crosetto said on Tuesday. "NATO costs are 5.5 billion euros [$6.3 billion] a year. Italy's contribution accounts for 8.53% of the amount, which is 450 million euros a year.
