Iran's former supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who was killed in US-Israeli attacks in late February, is due to be buried on July 9 in the northeastern city of Mashhad. Ceremonies are scheduled to begin on Saturday and will take place in a variety of locations reflecting the ideological pillars of the Islamic republic, for a leader who oversaw some of the most significant moments in its history.
