Police in Nigeria's central Kogi State said they had fought off an attack by armed bandits on Wednesday morning that left four people dead, including a six-year-old child. A "large number of heavily armed bandits" on around 40 motorbikes descended on Iluku Bunu, apparently intending to abduct students and residents, police said in a statement.
