The EU on Thursday opened an in-depth investigation into a bid by Chinese e-commerce giant JD.com to buy Ceconomy, a major German electronics retail group, on suspicion it was boosted by state subsidies. "The commission has preliminary concerns that JD.com may have been granted foreign subsidies that could distort the EU internal market," the European Commission, the 27-nation bloc's competition regulator, said. ub/raz/js ...
