Over 24 000 malaria cases recorded in Zambezi since January

KATIMA MULILO, 27 May 2026 – Zambezi Governor, Dorothy Kabula - Simushi says Namibia recorded 82 991 confirmed malaria cases from January to May 2026. She revealed this in a speech that was delivered on her behalf by Kabbe North Constituency Councilor and Chairperson of the Zambezi Regional Council Management Committee, Bernard Sisamu at a rotational regional belated World Malaria Day that was commemorated at the Mukwahepo Sports Field in the Diary Compound of the Katima Mulilo Urban Constituency on Wednesday. KATIMA MULILO, 28 MAY (NAMPA) – The Zambezi Region recorded 24 194 malaria cases, including 212 imported cases, between January and the last week of May this year, out of 82 991 cases recorded countrywide.
This was said by Zambezi Governor Dorothy Kabula-Simushi at a belated World Malaria Day commemoration in Katima Mulilo on Wednesday.
