Frankfurt (dpa) - Italian bank UniCredit has submitted an official takeover bid for German lender Commerzbank, UniCredit announced in Milan on Monday morning. The Italian bank is presenting the shareholders of Germany's second-largest private bank with an official takeover offer to acquire all shares of Commerzbank, said UniCredit - already the largest shareholder in Commerzbank.
