Sled dog teams from across Europe race along Bavarian-Austrian route

Munich (dpa) - Dog sledding enthusiasts from across Europe gathered in the Bavarian-Austrian border region for an international race this weekend. Organizers said more than 100 teams with over 500 dogs were expected to take part. The race course stretched from Bad Hindelang in Germany's Allgäu region to the neighbouring Austrian town of Schattwald and back, with routes ranging from 6 to 18 kilometres.
