Russia's energy system sets record high power consumption amid severe cold

MOSCOW, Jan. 26 (Xinhua) -- Russia's Unified Energy System has set a historic high in power consumption at 177.5 GW, the Russian Power System Operator said Monday. According to the operator, electricity consumption on Jan. 26 exceeded by 3.7 GW the previous all-time record, which was set on Dec. 11, 2023.
