Brazil's Lula speaks with Trump, plans Washington visit

BRASILIA, Jan. 26 (Xinhua) -- Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva held a phone call with U.S. President Donald Trump and agreed to pay an official visit to Washington, Brazil's presidency said Monday. During the 50-minute conversation, Lula proposed that the Council of Peace initiative put forward by the United States focus specifically on the Gaza conflict and include a seat for Palestine, according to an official statement.
