Mannheim, Germany (dpa) - Ailing German chemical giant BASF has signed an agreement to refrain from compulsory job cuts at its main plant in Ludwigshafen until 2028 while vowing to invest billions into the site, the company said on Monday. The works council described the months of negotiations that led to the deal as "tough," but said it had been "worth it."
