Ailing German railway aims for 60% punctuality rate in 2026

Berlin (dpa) - German railway operator Deutsche Bahn, which has been taking flak for years over increasing delays, aims for at least 60% of long-distance trains to be on time next year, the company's chief executive said on Thursday. Deutsche Bahn chief Eveyln Palla, who was appointed to the post earlier this year, said she was keeping the bar deliberately low, acknowledging that it was impossible to turn things around "overnight."
