Disgraced ex-property magnate Rene Benko on Wednesday copped a 15-month suspended prison sentence for fraud, compounding his fall from grace in the wake of his real estate empire's collapse. Benko, once one of Austria's richest people, founded Signa Holding in 2000, but the debt-laden group crumbled in 2023 in the largest insolvency proceedings in the country's history.
