Fire brigade: Over 200,000 litres of oil leaked from German pipeline

Berlin (dpa) - At least 200,000 litres of crude oil have leaked from a defective pipeline in the German state of Brandenburg which surrounds Berlin, according to initial estimates by the fire brigade. The oil spurted from a small leak at a pressure of approximately 20 bars at a pumping station near the village of Gramzow, said Alexander Trenn, the head of the Schwedt fire brigade and a hazardous materials adviser.
