Vietnam warns vessels over approaching tropical storm

HANOI, Dec. 1 (Xinhua) -- Tropical Storm Koto is nearing Vietnam's waters, prompting urgent warnings for vessels in the area, the Vietnam News Agency reported Monday. As of 7:00 a.m. Monday, the storm carried maximum winds of 74 km per hour as it tracked westward and is expected to weaken into a low-pressure system by 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, according to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting.
