1st LD-Writethru: Chinese shares close higher Monday

BEIJING, Oct. 27 (Xinhua) -- Chinese stocks closed higher on Monday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 1.18 percent to 3,996.94 points. The Shenzhen Component Index closed 1.51 percent higher at 13,489.4 points. The combined turnover of these two indices stood at 2.34 trillion yuan (about 330.13 billion U.S. dollars), up from 1.97 trillion yuan on the previous trading day.
