US Travel Economy Incurring Over $1Bln in Losses Amid Shutdown - Travel Association

WASHINGTON, October 8 (RIA Novosti) - The United States travel economy has suffered close to $1 billion in losses amid the ongoing government shutdown, the US Travel Association said on Wednesday. "It has been one week since the government shutdown began, and Congress has yet to reach an agreement to restore funding, costing America’s travel economy an estimated $1 billion each week in lost spending," the association said in a press release.
