Wall Street stocks edged higher early Thursday, extending gains as markets continue to shrug off a US government shutdown amid a budget standoff. "We're in a bull market," said Adam Sarhan of 50 Park Investments. If the shutdown "drags on or it gets out of control, meaning it stays shut for too long or any other negative possible outcome happens, that could change the mood," he said.
