Russia launches new frigate

ST. PETERSBURG, Aug. 14 (Xinhua) -- The frigate "Admiral Amelko" was launched Thursday at the Severnaya Verf shipyard in Saint Petersburg. According to Navy Commander-in-Chief Admiral Alexander Moiseyev, the frigate is capable of performing all tasks typical of a multi-purpose warship, in both near and far sea zones.
