VW surges to 46% share of German electric car market

Munich (dpa) - The Volkswagen (VW) Group held a 46% market share in the German electric car market in the first half of the year, putting it far ahead of competing firms, an analysis of figures from Germany's motor transport authority (KBA) has shown. The analysis, seen by dpa on Monday, shows that the industry giant is performing much better than it was a year ago, when it held a market share of almost 32%.
