US chemical firm Dow to close chemical plants in eastern Germany

Leipzig, Germany (dpa) - The US chemical company Dow plans to close some of its facilities in eastern Germany by the end of 2027. The company stated that the reason for this decision is structural challenges in the European market, including high energy and operating costs, as well as a lack of demand in key industries.
