Finnish Parliament Approves Withdrawal From Anti-Personnel Mines Convention

MOSCOW, June 19 (RIA Novosti) - The Finnish parliament approved the country's withdrawal from the Ottawa Convention, which prohibits the use of anti-personnel landmines, at a plenary session on Thursday. According to the results of the vote, which was broadcast on the parliament's website, 157 lawmakers voted in favor of the withdrawal from the convention and 18 lawmakers voted against, while 24 parliament members were absent.
