German tech companies to compete separately for EU AI gigafactory

Berlin (dpa) - Leading German tech firms have been unable to agree on a joint concept for a European artificial intelligence (AI) gigafactory and will instead make competing bids to the European Union, a tech sector online journal reported on Thursday. The decision means that Deutsche Telekom, the Ionos cloud provider and the IT subsidiaries of the Schwarz Group, which operates retail chains, will file separate applications by Friday's EU deadlin......
