The chief executive of Swiss mining and commodity trading giant Glencore said Wednesday the company had to make "tough decisions" as unions and NGOs criticised plans to cut down output and jobs. Glencore has said it will reduce production targets at certain mining sites, particularly at its Cerrejon open-pit coal mine in Colombia, to address falling prices of some raw materials.
