EU Council Approves Lifting Economic Sanctions on Syria - Statement

MOSCOW, May 28 (RIA Novosti) - The Council of the European Union on Wednesday approved the decision to lift economic sanctions against Syria. "The Council has adopted legal acts lifting all economic restrictive measures on Syria, with the exception of those based on security grounds," the statement read.
