WINDHOEK, 20 MAY (NAMPA) - The Namibia Investment Promotion Board (NIPDB) concluded phase one of its national projects media tour with a visit to 'Your Kitchen,' a N.dollars 20 million investment project in Windhoek, on Tuesday.
'Your Kitchen' managing partner Alice Rigoldi led the tour of the company, which was inaugurated in September 2023 and founded by Italian shareholders.
Rigoldi explained to journalists that 'Your Kitchen' is a first-of-its-kind project in Namibia, utilising technologies and methods widely applied in Europe and the United States. These include vacuum technology, sous vide cooking, and blast chilling.
“All ingredients used in our productions are sourced from Namibian suppliers. We work with multiple vendors because we require large bulk quantities that often cannot be supported by one supplier only. Through our local suppliers in Windhoek, we source raw materials produced across Namibia,” Rigoldi stated.
The company also supports small-scale producers and currently produces an average of 1 700 products per week. They project an annual delivery of up to 50 000 meals for the mining sector, with expansion operations underway in Arandis.
She also said the company currently serves eight lodges nationwide.
“One of our fruit and vegetable vendors exclusively offers Namibian-grown fresh produce from various regions, and all our meat is supplied by local producers committed to high-quality, locally raised livestock,” Rigoldi said.
‘Your Kitchen’ employs 14 individuals.
Last year, the NIPDB undertook a media tour to various projects across the country which they facilitated. These included the Kelp Blue project in Lüderitz, with a total Investment of N.dollars 160 million, Namibia Berries in Divundu, with a N.dollars 1.5 billion investment, the PyroNam biochar project in Otjiwarongo with a total investment of N.dollars 13 million, as well as the N.dollars 120 million Otjimbele grape production farm at Etunda in the Omusati Region.
