NKURENKURU, 18 OCT (NAMPA) - The Foreign Military Attaché/Advisors Association (FMAA) accredited to the Republic of Namibia on Thursday donated food parcels, stationery, and toiletries worth N.dollars 20 000 to 13 orphans and vulnerable children in Kavango West.
The association is made up of representatives from Zambia, Tanzania, China, Cuba, Zimbabwe, Botswana and South Africa.
During the handing over of the items at Nkurenkuru, the Dean of the Military Defence Attaché Association, Brigadier General Glady Chifwelu said even though it is a small donation, they hope the children can remember them as friends to Namibia.
One of the beneficiaries was a 14-year-old girl from Nkurenkuru, who thanked the delegation for the assistance, saying they are grateful for the donation.
While receiving the donation on behalf of the governor of the Kavango West Region, Nkurenkuru Constituency Councillor Fillipus Tenga thanked the delegation and called on them to continue helping others who are in need.
The delegation is undertaking a two-week official tour to various regions to familiarise themselves with developmental goals and strategic plans, as well as explore areas of cooperation.
