GOBABIS, 09 SEP (NAMPA) – The Ovambanderu community is mourning the loss of Ephraim Eliphas Tjingaete, a pioneering political leader and senior councillor of the Ovambanderu Traditional Authority (OTA), who passed away in Windhoek on 27 August 2026.
He was 71.
Tjingaete served as the first governor of the Omaheke Region and was the inaugural constituency councillor for Otjombinde under the DTA ticket, before later joining the Swapo Party.
