02 July 2025, Saxony-Anhalt, Magdeburg: "!!! Attention danger to life!!! - Demolition work" is written on a sign stuck to a barrier erected in front of a crossing to the banks of the Elbe. Due to considerable damage to the embankment wall, the city of Magdeburg has closed part of the Elbe riverbank promenade south of the Strombrücke bridge until further notice. Several cavities had been discovered in the structure in the affected section.
