Former Germany defender Ginter renews Freiburg contract

Berlin (dpa) - Former Germany defender Matthias Ginter has renewed his contract at boyhood club Freiburg for an undisclosed period, the Bundesliga side said on Tuesday. Ginter, 32, joined Freiburg's academy at under-13 level and made his Bundesliga debut in 2012. He left in 2014 but returned in 2022 after terms at Borussia Dortmund and Borussia Mönchengladbach.
