Drowning deaths rise in 2026 German swimming season

Hannover, Germany (dpa) - More people drowned in German waters during the outdoor swimming season this year than in the same period a year earlier, the German Life Saving Association (DLRG) said on Wednesday. The number of bathing deaths between May and mid-September rose to 248, 12 more than in the same period a year earlier, the DLRG said.
