Sri Lanka's 2025 employment rate shows improvement from previous year

COLOMBO, Sept. 16 (Xinhua) -- Sri Lanka's total employment rate among people aged 15 and above in 2025 was 96.1 percent, a 0.5 percentage point increase from the previous year, the Department of Census and Statistics said in its latest report released on Tuesday. The Sri Lanka Labor Force Survey 2025 showed that the country's unemployment rate stood at 3.9 percent in the year, representing about 329,000 people who are currently looking for job......
