Germany to Reach NATO 3.5% Defense Spending Target by 2029 – Finance Minister

MOSCOW, September 8 (RIA Novosti) - Germany will be able to reach NATO's benchmark of 3.5% of GDP for defense spending by 2029, German Finance Minister Lars Klingbeil said on Tuesday. "Defense spending will increase in 2027, and by 2029 we will reach the NATO target of 3.5% of GDP," Klingbeil said while presenting the draft budget for 2027 in the Bundestag.
