Japan's oldest person dies at 115

TOKYO, Aug. 31 (Xinhua) -- Japan's oldest person, Shigeko Kagawa, a 115-year-old woman who lived in the western prefecture of Nara, passed away late last week, local media reported on Monday. According to Kyodo News, Kagawa, born in 1911, died Thursday. Fuyo Kishimoto, a 114-year-old woman living in neighboring Kyoto Prefecture, has since become the country's oldest living person.
