Iraq Places Responsibility for Oil Exports on Buyers Amid Hormuz Crisis - Oil Ministry

BAGHDAD, August 27 (RIA Novosti) - Oil companies that have signed contracts to purchase Iraqi oil are responsible for its export through safe routes, Iraqi Oil Ministry spokesman Salim al-Rikabi told RIA Novosti on Thursday. "Sales are made at ports, and the purchasing companies are responsible for its export through safe routes," al-Rikabi said while commenting on the mechanism the ministry has used to increase oil exports in recent weeks.
