Study: Germans swap friends for screens as classic socializing fades

Hamburg (dpa) - Traditional socializing is losing ground in Germany, with the share of people regularly spending time with friends falling from 37% to 19% over the past 40 years, according to a new survey by the Hamburg-based BAT Foundation for Future Issues published on Tuesday.  Meeting friends remains the most important social leisure activity, but its significance has declined, the foundation said, citing its new Leisure Monitor survey of 3,0......
