Mauritania's coastguard said Friday it had rescued more than 300 migrants, including 40 children, from a boat drifting off the west African country's Atlantic coast. They were the latest of hundreds, mostly from Senegal, The Gambia, Guinea and Mali, who have been rescued in Mauritanian waters in recent months while attempting the journey to Europe.
