Confrontation with robbers kills 1 police officer in W. Afghanistan

KABUL, Aug. 21 (Xinhua) -- A police officer was killed following a confrontation and exchange of fire with two armed robbers in the western Afghan province of Herat on Thursday, provincial police spokesman Sayed Massoud Hussaini confirmed.
