Swiss trade surplus widens sharply in July

Geneva (dpa-AFX) - Switzerland's foreign trade surplus widened significantly in July as exports surged and imports declined, data from the Federal Customs Administration showed on Thursday. The trade surplus rose to 8.1 billion francs ($10.1 billion) in July from 3.8 billion francs in June. In real terms, exports jumped 10.7% from the previous month, while imports fell by 2.8%.
