Burned Area Exceeds 500,000 Hectares Across EU - Copernicus

MOSCOW, August 13 (RIA Novosti) - Wildfires have burned more than half a million hectares of land across the European Union since the beginning of July, data from the European climate monitoring service Copernicus shows. As of the week starting August 10, the burned area has already exceeded 554,000 hectares. The figure stood at around 127,000 hectares at the beginning of July.
