Bangkok (dpa) - A 30-year-old German tourist died after being swept out to sea by strong waves at Phuket's popular Freedom Beach, local media reported on Thursday, citing Thai authorities. The man was swimming with another German tourist on Monday when they were caught in the heavy surf, according to the Bangkok Post. Rescuers brought the woman to safety, but the man remained missing.
