The Czech government approved a bill Monday that scraps licence fees funding state media outlets in favour of direct government financing, a move critics say jeopardises their independence. Employees at Czech TV and Czech Radio have announced a 24-hour strike against the move by the nationalist coalition of billionaire Prime Minister Andrej Babis.
