A Ugandan opposition politician and lawyer has been detained by the authorities, his family said Monday, after he was set to file a legal summons against the president's powerful son and army chief. Kampala mayor Erias Lukwago represents one of president Yoweri Museveni's chief critics, Kizza Besigye, who has been in detention facing trial since his abduction from Kenya in 2024.
