A UK court sentenced Wednesday the first two people convicted of a new offence of risking the lives of migrants on a Channel crossing, jailing them each for at least two years. A judge at Canterbury Crown Court in southeast England sentenced the men for causing risk of death or injury to others during a sea crossing, a crime under a new security and immigration law that came into force in January.
